“Welcome to Thinking Like A Wealthy Woman, the podcast where we talk about creating wealth — not just in your bank account, but in your mind, your heart, and your life. I’m Salima, your host and fellow traveler on this wild, beautiful journey of designing a life that feels as good as it looks. Here, we don’t just chase success… we define it on our own terms and live it fully.
In Today’s episode, I want to explore a question that seems so simple, but when you really sit with it, it can change your entire relationship with life: What is money? For some of us, money feels like freedom. For others, it feels like stress. And for many, it feels like there’s never enough. But what if money is not what we think it is? What if money is something much more personal, much more powerful?”
🌱 Part 1 — My Story:
“I’ll tell you, my truth. There was a time in my life when I didn’t think about money at all. It wasn’t in my awareness — I lived, I did, I moved through life without really noticing it. Because my dad was healthy and was provided.
Then something changed and my dad got sick and couldn’t work anymore. And suddenly, I found myself consumed by it. Always thinking about not having enough. Always worried that it was slipping through my fingers. I woke up, and I went to bed, with the same fear: money is missing, money is lacking, money is never enough.
And maybe you’ve felt that too. That tightness in your chest. That background stress you carry everywhere.”
🌊 Part 2 — The Turning Point:
“But here’s what I learned along the way: it wasn’t just about how much I had. It was about how I was seeing it, how I was using it, how I was allocating it. In short it was all about my relationship with money.
When I stopped looking at money as an enemy, as someone to keep at arm length and started looking at it as a resource, as a tool, everything softened.
Money started to feel less like a prison, and more like a river. A river I could learn to direct, flow with, and enjoy — instead of being terrified of drowning in it.”
💫 Part 3 — Redefining Money:
So, what is money? For me, money is…
- A tool — not good, not bad, just something to use.
- An amplifier — it magnifies who you are and what you care about.
- A mirror — it reflects your beliefs, your fears, your hopes.
- And most of all, energy.
When I align with abundance, when I choose to see enoughness around me, money flows differently. It comes, it goes, it circulates. And I don’t feel trapped by it anymore.”
🌹 Part 4 — Abundance Mindset:
“Now, don’t get me wrong. This is not about saying ‘don’t want more.’ We’re human, we desire expansion, we want to grow.
But there is a difference between wanting more from a place of fear… and wanting more from a place of abundance.
When you immerse yourself in the energy of ‘what I have is already enough,’ something magical happens. The stress lifts. Gratitude expands. And strangely, life finds a way to give you more.”
🪞 Closing & Takeaways:
“So, my loves, I’ll leave you with this: money is not just what’s in your bank account. It’s how you feel when you spend, save, or share it. It’s the energy you bring into it. And when you shift into abundance, money stops being your enemy and becomes your partner.”
💌 Journal Prompt
“Take a moment today and ask yourself: How do I currently define money? And what would shift in my life if I chose to see money as enough, right here and now?”
